MUMBAI: Kajol will next be seen in Salaam Venky which also stars Vishal Jethwa in the lead role. The film's trailer was released today at an event in Mumbai and it has been getting a good response.
At the event, Kajol revealed that she had initially refused to do the film. She agreed to listen to the script because it was being directed by Revathy. The actress revealed that she wasn't keen on doing the film as she doesn't like to do films that revolve around kids and death. However, she couldn't say no to Revathy and did the movie.
Salaam Venky also stars Rahul Bose, Rajeev Khandelwal, and Aahana Kumra. The movie is slated to release on 9th December 2022. It is based on the book The Last Hurrah by Shrikant Murthy. It is based on the real-life story of Venkatesh and his mother Sujata. Venkatesh suffered from Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy (DMD) and passed away in 2004.
Salaam Venky also marks the comeback of Kamal Sadanah, who was Kajol’s first hero in the 1992 release Bekhudi. The actor was last seen on the big screen in Victoria No. 203 and directed the 2014 release Roar: Tigers of the Sundarbans.
Kajol was last seen on the big screen in the 2020 release Tanhaji: The Unsung Warrior. In 2021, her movie Tribhanga premiered on Netflix and the actress' performance was appreciated in it. Kajol's fans are excited to watch her on the big screen in Salmaan Venky.
