Born on 25 May 1972, he is the son of producer Yash Johar and the head of Dharma Productions, one of India’s leading production houses. Johar made his directorial debut with the blockbuster Kuch Kuch Hota Hai (1998), which became a cultural phenomenon.
He is known for directing and producing successful films like Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham (2001), My Name is Khan (2010), and Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani (2023). Johar is also a popular television host, best known for his celebrity chat show Koffee with Karan. His influence extends beyond filmmaking, shaping trends in Indian cinema and pop culture.
