Heropanti starring Jackie Shroff’s son Tiger Shroff was slated to hit theaters on 16th May. But call it the election effect, the movie has now been postponed by a week since the counting of votes will happen on 16th May. 23rd May seemed to be a perfect day and everything looked hunky dory until Sajid Nadiadwala, producer of Heropanti realized that Karan Johar’s Ungli had also lined itself up for release on the same day.
“Sensing that releasing two big mega movies on the same day would eat into each others’ profits and also keeping in mind the fact that this is Tiger Shroff’s debut movie, Sajid requested Karan if Ungli could be released on a different day as he was keen on giving Tiger’s movie a free run at the BO. And a magnanimous Karan immediately agreed,” revealed a source.
When contacted Sajid Nadiadwala confirmed the news and said, “We had initially planned to release the film on May 16, but since it is a counting day, we have decided to push the film ahead to May 23. We have also requested Karan Johar to release his film Ungli on another day. He has gracefully agreed to do the same, just so that Tiger’s film gets a solo release.”
Looks like this Tiger is a really lucky one for in this cut throat competitive world of Bollywood, not many can avail the luxury of getting a solo release.
