'Morning Joe' co-hosts Joe, Mika marry secretly

Morning Joe co-hosts Joe Scarborough and Mika Brzezinski got married in a secret ceremony.

According to Vanity Fair, the television anchors tied the knot at the National Archives here on 24 November with the nation's founding documents, including the Constitution and Declaration of Independence, right at their side. Scarborough and Brzezinski became the first couple to ever get married at the Archives. The ceremony was officiated by Maryland Representative Elijah Cummings, reported by media.

The co-hosts kept their ceremony very private and intimate. There were five guests in attendance, plus both of their children. Scarborough has four children, and Brezezinski has two.

"We wanted it to be really small and simple and not what you expected from Mika and Joe. Everything we do is exposed, and everything felt exposed every step of the way, so we want this to be private until it's over," said Brzezinski.

Vanity Fair said there weren't even formal invitations for the wedding. The identity of Scarborough and Brezezinski were kept under wraps for vendors, as was the location of the dinner after the ceremony.

The couple got engaged in March 2017 when Scarborough popped the question while the two of them vacationed in the south of France for Brezezinski's 50th birthday.

Katherine Heigl thrilled to be 40

Actress Katherine Heigl says she is thrilled about turning 40.

Heigl celebrated her 40th birthday on 24 November and commemorated the occasion with an introspective social media post.

The actress shared photographs from her birthday soiree. Standing in front of huge silvery balloons of the number 40, she grinned as she posed in a sweater and jeans, reports of leading publication.

"Well... I am officially 40 years old. I know you are going to think I'm full of it but the truth is... I'm pretty damn thrilled to be 40," she began her post.

A candlelit room provided a festive backdrop for the former Grey's Anatomy star's bash.

"For one thing, as my mother always says 'Getting older is better than the alternative'. Too true mother, too true," she wrote.

"For another thing, 40 feels to me like a certain kind of freedom. Freedom from all the self doubt, insecurities, self loathing, uncertainties and anxieties of my 20s and 30s."

Heigl further said on Instagram, "Not to say I don't still have those moments but I just feel like 40 makes me older and wiser. Steadier in my convictions. More certain of my strengths. More forgiving of my faults.

"I've spent the last five years of my 30s doing the work to evolve my mind and spirit. To move my heart towards a more profound and loving expression of my best self. I've read, studied, explored and practiced ways to expand my understanding of myself and the world around me.

"I've clarified my deepest desires and found that all I really crave is well being. For myself and those I love."

"You went to Disney and you were all high or something - or Six Flags," said Disick, 35.

"I didn't know you got high," said Jenner, 23.

"I got married on ecstasy. The first time," Kim, 38, said of her wedding to music producer Damon Thomas in 2000.

"I did ecstasy once and I got married. I did it again, I made a sex tape. Like, everything bad would happen," Kim said.

Kerr also doesn't really care that her chiseled abs aren't fully visible at the moment. "I don't mind," she said. "It's all part of it. I took nine months – well, 10 months – to grow a beautiful child and it might take 10 months to feel good in a swimsuit again. Or longer. Or never!"

Al Pacino to star in 'King Lear' adaptation

Actor Al Pacino will star as King Lear in a new film adaptation of Shakespeare’s play.

According to The Guardian, the Oscar-winning actor will be directed by Michael Radford, who worked with Pacino in 2004's The Merchant of Venice where the actor played Shylock, in King Lear, the story of a once-great monarch who descends into madness.

"Lear is the one that everyone aims for. Al has been toying with the idea for a long time. There's a difference between Shylock, who's only in five scenes, and Lear, who is in every scene, pretty much," Radford said in a statement.

"It's enormous. I think (Pacino) would like to have that kind of kudos because he's a terrific actor."

Pacino's casting for the film has been rumoured about for years.

Producer Barry Navidi, who also worked on The Merchant of Venice, said, "Before, we had the passion and the desire, but we never had a start date. We all have the energy to do ('King Lear') now. We're creating, hopefully, an epic.

Pacino made his name as a Hollywood star in films such as The Godfather and Scarface.

The rumours spread on Twitter after Sputnik News radio host Lee Stranahan's live Periscope video was interrupted by a call from a man identifying himself as Barr's assistant, seemingly informing him about the alleged heart attack.

In another tweet, Barr said, "I was the victim of a prank. I've had no medical issues. I'm spending time at home with my family and relaxing."

Barr has been laying low in recent weeks after the Roseanne spinoff, The Conners, premiered in October. The hit Roseanne reboot was cancelled by ABC in May following a racist comment Barr made about former Obama White House advisor Valerie Jarrett.
