MUMBAI: The Disha Salian case was one of the most controversial cases of the country. Post her death on June 9th 2020, her case was discussed on all media platforms.
The case became the talk of the nation since this happened exactly one week after Sushant Singh Rajput passed away, and Disha was his ex–manager.
The case blew out of proportion in the media and various theories came out of it.
Post her death, her boyfriend Rohan Rai, for over seven years, went underground and there wasn’t any news about him though several news channels were looking for him for a quote.
After three years, Rohan has come out and spoken about the case and broken his silence.
He spoke about what happened on that fatal night, and how things were blown out of proportion.
Now in a recent interview with an entertainment portal, Rohan revealed what happened on that tragic night.
The actor revealed, “Disha was an extremely sensitive person and she was stressed about work, and was under tremendous pressure after her deals didn’t work. She was an animal lover and the news of the elephant dying because of a cracker affected her a lot. We lived together in her parents’ home in Dadar (Mumbai), and then on June 4th 2020, I suggested to her that we move to our Malad flat as that was the place that we were going to shift to post-marriage.”
He further said, “That day we were joined by four of our friends and for two-three days we were drinking. Disha had mixed her drinks which she shouldn’t have, because she then gets in a bad state. Her last call was to her friend from London and everything happened in a matter of a few minutes.”
“I took the phone from Disha to talk to her friend while she went to the master bedroom and locked herself. A few minutes later, I knocked at the door but there was no answer since the door wasn't locked. I opened it and saw all the alcohol spilled on the bed and assumed that she would be changing her clothes in the bathroom. But after some time, we got worried and went inside and couldn’t find her and we all started to panic,” said Rohan Rai.
He further stated, “Then I saw the window open and ran there and saw her lying down and was shocked and asked my friend, ‘Kya Hai Yeh’. I went into denial and wanted to jump down as well but my friends stopped me. The police then checked me to see if there were fight marks on my body, and searched the house. Some of our friends rushed Disha to the hospital; the first two places refused to admit her, but the third hospital agreed to admit her, but she was declared dead on arrival.”
Rohan said that all the news around Disha and Sooraj Pancholi and her being pregnant was all baseless and they have no clue from where all these theories came up.
He also clarified that she wasn’t working with the late actor Sushant Singh Rajput, but was working for his agency and did a few ads for him, and that was only the connection she had.
He also spoke about how this case affected his work as he was kicked out from a movie and a web series, and he couldn’t understand the reason why. He also vouched that he would take care of her parents for a lifetime.
