Shabana, his wife, finds this practice embarrassing a lot and would rather keep her distance from him at these times. During the promotion of his most recent movie, "Bhaiyya Ji," Bajpayee talked about his tendency of bargaining and disclosed that vegetable vendors now tease him for his this same behaviour. To Shabana's dismay, he clarifies that he's simply practising, as she doesn't bargain at all.
When questioned about bargaining for vegetables, Bajpayee revealed that now the vegetable vendors scold him, 'Sir, this doesn't look good.' Then the actor explained that he was just practising! He disclosed that his wife would pretend not to know him. She is not a fan of bargaining.

According to Manoj, they use a variety of cotton bags when they go grocery shopping. He also mentioned how his wife's love of thrifting contributed to their sustainability endeavours. He said that his wife insisted on visiting thrift stores in every place they visited while visiting America, whether or not they made any purchases. With a comical undertone, Bajpayee continued, "It's my job to find Shabana as many thrift stores as he can."
