MUMBAI: Anupam Kher’s directorial Tanvi The Great is creating waves of anticipation ahead of its release. After announcing a powerful ensemble cast featuring Iain Glen, Boman Irani, Jackie Shroff, Arvind Swami, Pallavi Joshi, Karan Tacker, and debutant Shubhangi, joining the team now is acclaimed actor Nasser, who will be seen playing Brig. KN Rao.
For Nasser it was a wonderful experience to perform under the direction of Anupam Kher. He shares, "Anupam Kher is one of the best contemporary actors in India. It was wonderful to perform in his directorial debut. Actors’ performances were vital in conveying the story. Being an actor he knows how to get the best out of an actor. As I was listening to the story of Tanvi, my eyes were collecting tears. But watching Tanvi perform live on set, I have to say, it is one of the best performances I have seen. And watching Anupam Kher direct Tanvi, I could see the great teacher in him. I believe this film will inspire many young girls and women of this country who dream big. I wish Anupam Kher for this movie to transcend borders."
Anupam Kher shared, "Even though #NasserSir is younger than me it is because of his legendary film career the ‘SIR’ comes out automatically when I am referring to him. His acting graph and his list of films is an actor’s dream. Thevar Magan, Bombay, Anne Sivam, Nayakan, Bahubali…. I can go on and on. The list is endless. 552 and counting. But it is THE PERSON that makes him the The Tallest man. He is an OUTSTANDING actor, highly respected and generous! I wanted only him to play Brig. Rao in Tanvi The Great! Without listening to the details he said he is doing the film. It ii only when I shot with him on the first day I narrated him the script and his role in details. He had tears in eyes and I had the character on the sets. Thank you Nasser Sir for your Magnanimity, large heartedness and a BRILLIANT performance. Tanvi The Great is also set to have its world premiere at the prestigious Cannes Film Festival, within the Marché du Film.
Directed by Anupam Kher, with music by Oscar-winner M.M. Keeravani, the film is produced by Anupam Kher Studios and NFDC, in association with Lower Middle Class Corporation. The release date will be announced soon.
