MUMBAI: Ramayana is one of the most anticipated films which the fans are eagerly waiting for. The movie is helmed by Nitesh Tiwari starring Ranbir Kapoor as Ram and Sai Pallavi as Sita. According to the reports Ramayana is the most expensive film till now with a budget of Rs 800 crore.
According to the reports the director Nitesh Tiwari has added a new name in the cast. ‘The Kerala Story' actress Sonia Balani has been selected to play an important role in 'Ramayana'. Sonia Balani is an Indian actress who is known for her roles in Hindi Film industry’s films 'Tum Bin 2', 'Baazaar', and 'The Kerala Story' and also TV dramas like 'Bade Achhe Lagte Hain', 'Tu Mera Hero', and 'Detective Didi’
The actress was born to a Sindhi family from Agra, Uttar Pradesh, and had made debut in the industry in the year 2012. The actress was highly appreciated for her role Asifa in 'The Kerala Story'. The film was a super hit and had grabbed a lot of praise from the viewers which was made on a budget of Rs 20 crore, and earned Rs 304 crore at the box office.
According to the reports, the actress was selected by the director Nitesh for playing the role of Urmila in his upcoming film ‘Ramayana.’ Urmila was the wife of Ram’s younger brother Lakshman. Ranbir Kappor’s Ramyana is all set to create a history as the film with an assigned budget of Rs 835 crore, is the most expensive film to ever get made, to date.
According to a source, "The $100 Million [Rs 835 crore] budget is just for Ramayana: Part One. He plans to expand this further as the franchise grows. The idea is to take the audience on a visual treat with Ranbir Kapoor as Lord Ram. The film requires 600 days of post-production work, which in itself speaks volumes about the investment required to create some of the most original visuals on the spectacle. The idea is to take Indian Cinema to a global level."
