MUMBAI: Like many women who have spoken about their experiences after the #MeToo movement gained momentum, Flora Saini, who was seen in the Rajkummar Rao and Shraddha Kapoor starrer Stree, has shared her ordeal.
Also known by her screen name Asha Saini, Flora took to Facebook to retell her story. She was sexually assaulted by producer Gaurang Doshi back in 2007, and her case is still in the court. She also mentioned in her post that it took her a year to report the case. However, back then, her case did not get much support unlike the present day.
In an interview with a portal, the actress said that she couldn’t talk much about it, as the case is still in the court. She shared that her main reason to retell her story on social media was to compare the past and present situations. She applauded the women who have come out in the open to share their stories. She also commended women for standing in support of one another.
What do you think of Flora Saini?
Flora further mentioned that back then, nobody from the film industry supported her. She received support only from Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, who walked out of Gaurang’s film. As per media reports, Aishwarya didn’t want to work with a woman-beater.
