MUMBAI: From becoming an internet sensation with the Marathi version of the ‘Cup Song’ to doing the viral series ‘Little Things’, Mithila Palkar has emerged as one of the most promising names in the digital entertainment industry. With her infectious smile, she has gone on to win hearts aplenty in popular web shows like Girl in the City, Little Things and Official Chukyagiri. The ‘internet star’ is also gearing up for her Netflix film Tribhanga is caught up in a candid chat with Filmfare Digital Editor, Rahul Gangwani in the latest episode of Filmfare Spotlight.
The carefree and bubbly actress speaks about the overwhelming feeling that she experienced when she became an overnight internet sensation post the ‘Cup Song’. Talking about the response from loved ones, she shares, “I literally had a night to see the flip happen in my life. It was absolutely surreal. I wasn’t sure of what was happening. I didn’t know what going viral went. My phone kept hanging. People were tagging me, I kept getting calls from journalists the next day. I’m still taking it all in.”
With her latest release Tribhanga set to release on Netflix, Mithali also spoke about working under Renuka Shahane (director) and alongside Kajol. She goes on to talk about her experience working with the ’90s icon Kajol, “Working with her was absolutely fantastic. I’ve grown up watching Kajol and of course, I had a fan moment knowing that I would share screen space with her. I am a ’90s kid and she is all about the ’90s. We’ve all grown up watching her. I was just a little intimidated just by that thought. But not because she made me feel that way. The ice was broken the minute we met on set. Her laughter is infectious, she laughs a lot. She just keeps the energy happy. Woh dil se hasti hai, dil khol ke bolti hai. She is who she is and I love her.”
