MUMBAI: In the past we have seen some amazing sports drama movies like Gold, Maidaan, Dangal, Chak De India, Jersey, Sultan, Ghoomer and many more. A successful sports drama movie has the potential at least to convert the theatre into a stadium.
Mr and Mrs Mahi is that one movie which has tried it's best to get into the list of such great sports drama but did it make it to the list? Well, it is almost there.

According to the plot of the movie, we see two young individuals stuck in a life, doing what they don't want to do and not having enough strength to stand against their parents but when the two are united, they can win the world.
The movie made the audience feel what it was trying to convey. However, it seemed that we knew what was coming next from a mile away. Here's where the movie played well - although there were some plot holes in the movie, the performances by all the actors - Rajkummar Rao, Janhvi Kapoor, Kumud Mishra, Rajesh Sharma, Zarina Wahab, Shashie Verma, Purnendu Bhattacharya and many more - made up for it and distracted the audience very well.
When it comes to the technical department, everything was great especially the editing part. Screenplay of the movie was really impressive. Coming to the sound part, well, the background score kept the audience hooked really well and while there were a few songs in the movie, 'Dekha Tenu' became a song that would stay with us even after the movie ended. The song has a freshness in it's voice.
All-in-all, the movie gave us a really good small town story with a great chemistry between Janhvi Kapoor and Rajkummar Rao, and the struggle that a married couple and the same people individually go through in order to fullfill their dreams.
Team Tellychakkar gives this movie 3/5 stars.
