Mrunal Thakur had previously discussed how she attempts to keep her fashion choices simple in an interview with the popular news portal. The actress stated that the majority of the clothing she wears to public events and movie screenings is purchased from third party. However, she only spends a maximum of Rs. 2000 on her personal expenditures.

She stated, “Because whatever is expensive, you cannot wear them over and over again. You are not going to wear them again. These are not my clothes, I have just sourced them. The maximum money I have spent on a top is Rs 2000. That also I feel is too much.”

Further in the same interaction, Mrunal had even claimed that she believes spending more for the sake of brand name is simply a waste of money. She talked about her own self and remarked that she never buys anything luxurious or expensive, just because of the brand name attached to it. Furthermore, she added how she keeps a balance in her wardrobe by having a good match of only one or two classic pieces, and the rest of it being normal items.

Currently, a user of the discussion website Reddit has posted a screen grab of Mrunal's interview and highlighted her statement that she has personally spent up to Rs. 2K on clothing. The actress' statement was ignored by the Redditor, who emphasized that Mrunal was merely faking relatability to be in the public eye. "Is Mrunal Thakur, One More Case of an Actor Trying Too Hard To Be Relatable To The Public?" was the heading of the post.
