MUMBAI: Sushant Singh Rajput was found dead at his apartment in Bandra, Mumbai on June 14, 2020. The nation was left shocked with Sushant’s untimely demise, and in the days following his death, several reports and rumours turned up, many of which weren’t verified. Now, Mumbai Police Commissioner Param Bir Singh broke his silence on Sushant’s case and while addressing a press conference, he debunked rumours of a party at Sushant’s residence on June 13. He also talked about the probe started by Bihar Police in Sushant’s case.

In the video of the press conference shared by CNN-News 18, Police Commissioner Param Bir Singh can be seen saying that Mumbai police have recorded the statements of 56 people in connection with this case so far. He was also asked about the rumours of a party held at Sushant’s place on June 13, to which Commissioner Singh said that the police have recovered and examined the CCTV footage of June 13 and 14, and they found no evidence of a party hosted at Sushant’s residence, a day before his death.
As for Bihar Police’s probe in Sushant’s case, he said that the Mumbai Police is taking legal advice on Bihar Police’s action and said that as such, Bihar Police should have transferred the case to Mumbai police after registering an FIR in Patna. However, they are taking legal opinion on the same.
He also said that around Rs 18 crore were there in Sushant’s account and at the time of Sushant’s demise there were 4.5 crore Rs in his account. “According to our investigation, out of this money, no money was transferred to Rhea's account but our detailed investigation is on,” he said.
