MUMBAI: Actor Ranvir Shorey is known for his roles in Lootcase, Bheja Fry, Angrezi Medium and many more. The actor is known for his stellar acting skills but he recently came into limelight for a different issue apart from acting.
Recently, the bollywood actor shared messages he received from a person seemingly named Suraj Thakur who claims to be a member of the Congress party. The disrespectful messages came after the actor posted a meme mocking the party in connection with PM Modi's unannounced visit to the Central Vista Project site in New Delhi.

Modi’s unplanned visit to Central Vista was taken positively by the workers , but Congress slammed the act as thoughtless and insensitive. Following this, Ranvir Shorey took to Twitter and uploaded a meme with PM Modi's photo from the Central Vista construction site, along with a text that said "run PM Modi is coming" in an apparent dig at the Congress.
Shorey eventually deleted the post and apologised that the caption contained foul language and that the tweet was misleading. Later, he posted screenshots of a series of messages regarding the threat.

Suraj Thakur alleged that he was messaging on behalf of Mumbai Congress President Bhai Jagtap in connection with the meme Shorey has shared with some derogatory statements 'defaming Gandhi/Nehru family'. Thakur threatened Shorey in the post. He said ,"I am sure you are not aware of legal consequences for using such words for a former PM."
Thakur also said, "I strongly advice you to give an apology ASAP and delete the content from all social media platforms or else face wrath of the consequences.”

Shorey afterwards deleted the tweet with the derogatory caption from his Twitter account and re-shared the meme with a different message. He made an explanation and apologised for the language used in the previous caption in a series of tweets.
However, he took a dig again at the opposition. He wrote on his Twitter, “blame the opposition that has had nothing constructive to offer this country, but just a one point agenda since 2014: Modi-Hate.”
Original tweet has been deleted due to inappropriate language used by me for the caption. Apologies if the use of that hurt anyone. Meme will be reposted with a new caption.
