My competition is not Paoli Dam - Surveen Chawla

Hate Story 2 may not have the uber bold Paoli Dam in it but if the trailer of the upcoming movie is anything to go by, lead actress Surveen Chawla and her own brand of uninhibited sensuousness looks all set to make sure that the absence of Paoli Dam is not sorely felt. While Hate Story 1 was billed as an extremely bold film, Hate Story 2 looks no less bold going by what the trailer has to offer. Surveen though doesn’t see grounds for any comparison to be drawn between the two. “There is no question of any comparison. My movie is not a continuation of part one and neither is it a sequel. What Paoli did for Hate Story 1 is what made Hate Story 2 possible. Hate Story 1 got a huge response and Paoli did a great job in it.” On asking her if she will be able to better Paoli’s performance, Surveen says, “My competition is not Paoli. My competition is myself. I want to better my own performance. I am my worst critic. I look back at my work from my previous movies and often think that I should have done this thing differently. So my competition is my own self.” Surveen is also quick to negate the notice that Hate Story 2 is just a bold film. “There are different emotions showcased in the film. There is love, hatred, anger, vengeance, intimacy and many others,” asserts Surveen. Hate Story 2 will open in screens across India on 18 July.
