MUMBAI: Fresh from the success of her acclaimed live Broadway style musical show ‘Umrao Jaan Ada’ in nine US cities, acclaimed actress and national award winning producer Neetu Chandra has now graced the prestigious runway at New York Fashion Week (NYFW) right at Times Square in New York, further solidifying her position as a global multifaceted talent.
“I was elated to be a part of the runway as I had just completed my Umrao Jaan Ada performances, which lasted for 2 and a half hours of stage. I can not tell you how my heart swelled with pride as I took strides on the runway,” said Neetu.
Neetu took center stage as a showstopper for a luxury woman workwear brand, alongside renowned designer Lee Evans Lee, TV personality Cheryl Burke, and singer Crystal Waters. Her runway appearance highlighted her commitment to empowering women, seamlessly blending designer elegance with activewear functionality. Neetu’s vision was clear: to inspire women to embrace challenges with confidence and comfort, all while embodying practicality in style. Her dedication to women's empowerment remains a central theme across her diverse pursuits, and her recent appearance at the fashion event proved to be no different.
“Women handle multiple roles with ease, and that is exactly what the clothes stood out for — a dash of elegance along with practicality of everyday comfort wear. The clothes were unique and artistic but something in which you can slip in and out easily, exactly what women like us need,” Neetu added.
