Nikitin Dheer Once Dreamed of Joining the Armed Forces, but Destiny Had Other Plans

MUMBAI: Renowned actor Nikitin Dheer, who recently won Best Negative Lead for his powerful portrayal of Raavan in Srimad Ramayan, has not only earned critical acclaim but also amassed a dedicated fan base. However, few know that before stepping into the world of entertainment, Nikitin had aspired to serve in the armed forces.

Taking on responsibilities from a young age, Nikitin began working odd jobs at just 17. His dream was always to join the armed forces, a profession he deeply admired for its sense of duty and purpose. However, his grandmother, having witnessed difficult experiences related to military life, was hesitant about him pursuing this path. Though he managed to bring the application form home, he was ultimately not allowed to fill it.

Reflecting on this pivotal moment in his life, Nikitin shared, "I've always looked up to professions like the armed forces, doctors, and firemen – they serve a greater purpose. Even though my dream of joining the military wasn’t meant to be, I thought perhaps I could pursue the IAS. But the immense dedication and intellect required made me question whether I had it in me. In the end, destiny had other plans, and here I am, entertaining millions on screen. I just hope I do justice to the characters I portray and bring a smile to my parents’ faces when they see me.”

From an aspiring soldier to a celebrated actor, Nikitin Dheer’s journey is a testament to how fate often leads us to unexpected yet fulfilling paths.
