Ever since Anushka Sharma's NH10 released last Friday, critics have been comparing the movie to 2008 British film, Eden Lake starring Michael Fassbender and Kelly Reily. Parallels have been drawn between many scenes to support the argument that the movie was inspired from its Hollywood counterpart. While Eden Lake dealt with the problems faces by a couple out on a romantic holiday in jungles, NH10 sees Anushka and her husband played by Neil Bhoopalam encountering trouble on their road trip.
Rubbishing talks of the movie being inspired from Eden Lake, Anushka said, "It's like saying every love story is the same. Our film is about a road trip. Road trip is based on the philosophy that you are going in a happy situation and some issues happen and how things get crazy and how you ultimately drive yourself out of it. In our movie, we are locked out of our car and we are running around to escape. The problem is when a film hits you hard, you try to draw parallels which is really unfortunate."
For Anushka, it is the template of these genre of movies which is the same. Explained the actress, "The template of the film is the same. For example, in a love story, the boy and the girl fall in love, they face some problem, they separate and come back again. So the template of many love stories remain the same. But it is not right to compare one film to another and I think it is not right to compare NH 10 to Eden Lake."
Anushka however revealed that she hadn't seen the film yet. "I haven't seen it. My director Navdeep has."
