Looks like Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra’s Milkha Singh biopic Bhaag Milkha Bhaag is slowly captivating the imagination of whole of India with it already being exempted from Entertainment Tax in states like Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh, Delhi and Goa. The latest is that the film has been made tax free in Haryana too.
It was at the insistence of the state chief minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda that the film has been made tax free. Going by the impressive movie he made, Mehra wanted that his film to be exempted from entertainment tax all over the country. “There was a sole reason behind getting the film tax free I want this flick to reach every nook and corner of the country. This film is a family watch and is made to inspire the youth," the filmmaker observed.
"I do not want people to wait for it to come on to cable television and then be able to view it. Instead, the film should fit into the monthly budget of every household so that they can get the complete experience of the legend's life journey, hardships and achievements in the theatre," Mehra added.
Bhaag Milkha Bhaag, which released on 12 July, features Farhan Akhtar in the lead role with powerful performances of Divya Dutta, Master Japtej Singh as the young Milkha, Pavan Malhotra s Milkha Singh's Coach Gurudev Singh and Prakash Raj among many others.
