Sarah Silverman's message to all young girls

Actress Sarah Silverman gets amused to see women go to great lengths of "physical discomfort to get love".

The actress, who lends her voice to the character of Vanellope von Schweetz in animated film Ralph Breaks the Internet, wants to tell them that they don't have to be uncomfortable to deserve love.

"The idea of Disney princess has grown and changed. That Disney has taken on progress and inclusivity and has grown and changed in positive ways," Silverman said in a statement to leading publication.

"And this movie just faces it head on. Leans right into it. Well, you get saved by a man. And you're in great distress. Your life is threatened. And then someone else saves you. And then to all in one movie acknowledge all of that and then shatter it is so exciting," she added.

Directed by Rich Moore and Phil Johnston, Ralph Breaks the Internet brings back Ralph (John C. Reilly) and his fellow misfit Vanellope. This time, the digital duo go on a journey to explore the world of Internet, where they hope to find a replacement steering wheel for Vanellope's own racing game, the arcade classic Sugar Rush. The Walt Disney Animation Studios' project will release in India on 23 November.

The film is yet to release, but one scene has been getting a lot of attention. It is when Vanellope runs into a whole bevy of other Disney princesses from Anna (Kristen Bell) and Elsa (Idina Menzel) of Frozen to Rapunzel (Mandy Moore) and Moana (Auli'i Cravalho).

Talking about her role, she said, "And to get to be this kid who becomes like a princess with an attainable waist line. And wearing comfortable clothes. And I always like, as a comic, this is really going a different direction...I would see young women in half shirts and sky high heels. And they're freezing cold. They're like this shivering. And their feet hurt. I just think. I just wish I could tell them that they don't have to be uncomfortable to deserve love.

"Boys are not raised to think that they ever have to sacrifice comfort to be loved. And it just always struck me. I would be in like my hoodie and jeans and just think, these girls don't think that they can get love without this insane amount of physical discomfort.

"And I love that Vanellope kind of sheds light on these grown up princesses that are uncomfortable hanging out."

Mandy Moore gets married in a pink wedding dress

Actress Mandy Moore ditched the classic white wedding dress and chose the colour blush pink for her wedding.

The 34-year-old star, exchanged vows with musician Taylor Goldsmith, 33, on Sunday at an intimate backyard ceremony here, reports of media.

Moore, in an interview to a leading publication in August said she won't be choosing "a stereotypical white wedding dress".

She sported a stunning blush pink gown featuring a tiered tulle skirt, floral-embellished waist and high ruffled neckline, designed by Rodarte.

The romantic gown was complemented by a matching veil, swept-back tousled hair and glittery pink eye-shadow.

Moore's makeup artist, Jenn Streicher, posted photographs of the bride's breathtaking look, which were soon deleted, but reposted to a fan account.

Moore and Goldsmith got engaged last September after dating for two years. Moore was previously married to musician Ryan Adams, though they split in 2015 after almost six years of marriage. This is Goldsmith's first marriage.

Sarah Michelle Gellar sparks debate with lingerie photos

Actress Sarah Michelle Gellar sparked a social media debate after she shared throwback photos in lingerie as a reminder not to overindulge during a holiday.

"I'm just going to pin these up all over my house as a reminder not to overeat on Thursday #thanksgivingprep," she captioned the photos, reports of leading publication.

Taken at a 2007 photo shoot for Maxim, the shots quickly stirred up controversy in Gellar's comment section.

"Your caption is problematic and I suggest you do some research on eating disorders, the mental health issues that go along with them, and how diet culture is harmful to women. Girls look up to you, and you should be mindful of the message you're sending," said one fan.

Another added, "How empowering for women! Disappointing to use your platform to promote thinspiration on a once a year holiday that should be about togetherness and gratitude."

But for the most part Gellar's fans were supportive of the actress who shares daughter Charlotte Grace and son Rocky with her husband of 16 years Freddie Prinze Jr.

One Instagrammer wrote, "Thank you for promoting a healthy lifestyle! You can enjoy Thanksgiving without going crazy!!"

"You are gorgeous and you have the right to post whatever you want. I applaud your hard work to look like you do and should be able to joke around. People need to stop caring so much about what you post or say about yourself and focus on themselves," said another fan.

Nevertheless, Gellar apologized on Instagram.

"It's come to my attention that some people think I was ‘fat shaming' with this post. That could not be further from my intentions," she said. "I love Thanksgiving and unfortunately my eyes are often bigger than my stomach, and I tend to eat so much I make myself sick.

"This was a joking reminder to myself not to do that. I'm terribly sorry that people were offended by my attempt at humour. Any one that knows me, knows I would never intentionally ‘shame' any one on any basis. I am a champion of all people."

Robert De Niro splits from wife after over 20 years of marriage

Veteran actor Robert De Niro has split from his wife, Grace Hightower, after more than 20 years of marriage.

In November 2004, the two renewed their vows in front of an A-list crowd such as Martin Scorsese, Meryl Streep, Ben Stiller, Tom Brokaw and others.

A representative for De Niro did not immediately respond to media for comment.

Actor-director Joel Edgerton says Boy Erased made him re-evaluate his sense of faith.

"It made me re-evaluate my sense of faith and reinforced my commitment to acceptance," Edgerton said in a statement to leading publication.

The director says "it has opened my eyes and heart to different worlds that I didn't know existed".

"That even though we may be different from one another, the one intrinsic human emotion we share is love. Love will always prevail, love will always win and that is what this film is all about."

Based on the memoir by Garrard Conley of the same name, the gay conversation drama showcases the true story of a young man Jared's ( Lucas Hedges) struggle to find himself while being forced to question every aspect of his identity. Jude Law wasn't nervous while playing Dumbledore

Actor Jude Law says he was not nervous to essay the role of Albus Dumbledore in Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald.

In an interview to IMDb, the actor, who essays young Dumbledore in the film, said he enjoyed being part of the movie, read a statement.

"I wasn't even thinking about the pressure! I was thrilled and excited because while my children were growing up I read them Harry Potter books and went with them to see the films," Law said.

"I am a huge fan of the Potter series, and to suddenly be in it was wonderful. Once you get in the character, there were so many references and David told me we are not trying to recreate the 110 old Dumbledore, so we looked together at the character and I felt so free," he added.

Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald is the second in the planned five movies spin-off franchise from the Harry Potter films. The first part Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them came out in 2016.

With the franchise, J.K Rowling went back in time to introduce a thriving world of magic, magical creatures and wizards in New York.

It brought forward new characters like Tina, Newt Scamander (Eddie Redmayne), Gellert Grindelwald (Johnny Depp), Queenie (Alison Sudol) and Jacob Kowalski (Dan Fogler).

Along with exploring a complex storyline and setting pace for the future, Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald also goes back in the past and tells the story of Dumbledore and Grindelwald bond.

Talking about working with Law, Redmanyne said, "The first scene that I did with Jude is where Dumbledore is revealed, he managed to capture in one look all the qualities about Dumbledore. He managed to put together the gravitas, the playfulness, in one look. All I could say was he is a bloody good actor."
