Phule: Pratik Gandhi reveals his criteria of choosing scriots, says, ‘I’m the tool and I have to be a flexible tool to tell a story’ - Exclusive

MUMBAI: Pratik Gandhi has a line of some amazing projects in his filmography. He is performance in Scam 1992 earned him a great deal of recognition but that wasn’t the end. In fact, it was just the beginning as the actor showed versatility later on in movies like Madgaon Express, and Do Aur Do Pyaar and Agni.

Now, adding another one to his list, is ‘Phule’ a movie based on the life of Jyotirao Phule and Savitribai Phule. While Pratik Gandhi will be seen playing the role of Jyotirao Phule, Patralekha will play the role of Savitribai Phule. The movie is directed by Ananth Mahadevan.

In an exclusive interview with Tellychakkar, Pratik Gandhi was asked about his criteria of choosing scripts as we have seen him playing a variety of roles. Sure enough, Pratik Gandhi gave us what we needed.

Pratik Gandhi said, “If the script excites me to be a part of it, bohot simple, jaise kahaaniyan suno, koi bhi kahaani. Jab aap kahaniyaan sunn rahe ho aur aap ke saamne who drishya aane shuru ho jate hai where you feel you’re a part of the story then it works for you. Aur main yeh samajhta hoon ke agar mere liye who cheez kaam kar rahi hai then I’ll be able to help the script translate well for the audience also. Agar who mere liye hi kam nahi kar rahi hai toh who main audience tak kaise pohochaunga.”

He further said, “I’m the tool and I have to be a flexible tool to tell a story. When I’m saying flexible, ki mere dimaag mein ek alag image hai, ek alag vision hai. The moment I hear the director saying the same story, he comes with his vision. Aur yeh medium collaborative medium hai. Writer kuch material leke aaye hai, Uspe director ne apna vision rakha hai. Uss par main khud ko rakhunga aur mujhe usme apne aap ko dhaal ke, uss kahani ko zinda karna hai...toh yeh sab ka mila jula kaam hai na...”
