Phule: Pratik Gandhi reveals how he dived deep into the character of Jyotirao Phule, says, ‘Humne dhunda but na inki koi…’ - Exclusive

In an exclusive interview with Tellychakkar, Pratik Gandhi opened up about his performance in the movie and how he got the reference for his character.

MUMBAI: Pratik Gandhi has a line of some amazing projects in his filmography. He is performance in Scam 1992 earned him a great deal of recognition but that wasn’t the end. In fact, it was just the beginning as the actor showed versatility later on in movies like Madgaon Express, and Do Aur Do Pyaar and Agni.

Now, adding another one to his list, is ‘Phule’ a movie based on the life of Jyotirao Phule and Savitribai Phule. While Pratik Gandhi will be seen playing the role of Jyotirao Phule, Patralekha will play the role of Savitribai Phule. The movie is directed by Ananth Mahadevan.

In an exclusive interview with Tellychakkar, Pratik Gandhi opened up about his performance in the movie and how he got the reference for his character.

Pratik Gandhi said, “Sabse bada aur tagda reference script tha uske baad humne dhunda but na inki koi videos hai, na inki koi audio clips hai. 1850 ke aas paas ki baat hai toh aisa kuch nahi hai. Bas ek portrait hai jo bohot hi famous hai...toh wohi ek reference tha humare paas. Baki jo bhi references hai who likhit (written) references hai.”

He also clarified that his style of talking and walking was the result of efforts and creativity by him and the director and they are also very careful about being in the limits of the story and script.
