MUMBAI: Prabhas starred in Kalki 2898 AD and has become the "Most Popular Male Film Star in India" following a phenomenal run at the box office, according to Ormax Media's July 2024 report. When Kalki 2898 AD was released at the end of June, actors Prabhas, Deepika Padukone, Amitabh Bachchan, and Kamal Haasan received a great deal of praise. Prabhas's number one ranking is particularly intriguing because it follows Arshad Warsi's comments regarding his role in the film directed by Nag Ashwin.

Prabhas, Vijay, Shah Rukh Khan, Mahesh Babu, Jr. NTR, Akshay Kumar, Allu Arjun, Salman Khan, Ram Charan, and Ajith Kumar are listed in the following order of importance in the July 2024 report.

According to reports, the Hindi version of Kalki 2898 AD earned Rs 112.15 Cr in its first weekend of sales and ended up earning Rs 294.25 Cr in Hindi alone across its whole run.

Following its recent multilingual release on Netflix and Prime Video, the movie has attracted notice once again. More importantly, the movie grabbed the news once more after Prabhas' character was criticized by Arshad Warsi in a viral video.

For the unversed, Arshad Warsi recently said that Prabhas looked like a ‘joker’ in Kalki 2898 AD. The actor was asked to name a recent film he watched and didn’t like. The Golmaal star named Kalki 2898 AD. Arshad said that while he loved Amitabh Bachchan’s performance as Ashwatthama in the Nag Ashwin directorial, he was not impressed by Prabhas’ look.

He went on to say that Prabhas should have been made to resemble Mel Gibson. Even though Arshad's comment was regarding Prabhas's part in the movie, many took it as a dig at the actor and slammed Arshad in response.

Nani was questioned concerning Arshad's remark, which appeared to mock the latter and refer to it as a "unimportant matter," at a press conference for his most recent movie, Saripodhaa Sanivaaram. Arshad Warsi was also slammed by Sudheer Babu for his comments about the actor, calling him as "unprofessional."

“It’s okay to criticize constructively but it’s never okay to bad-mouth. Never expected the absence of professionalism from Arshad Warsi. Prabhas’s stature is too big for comments coming from small minds,” Babu wrote on X.

Before this, Arshad Warsi's comments on Prabhas angered director Ajay Bhupathi. He discussed Prabhas' contributions to Indian cinema and accused Warsi with being jealous of the star from Baahubali.
