MUMBAI: Priyanka Chopra Jonas has carved a niche for herself in Bollywood as well as Hollywood. The actress is considered as a global icon. She is not only known for her work but also her generous side. She showed her kindness once again. She has recommended her makeup artiste Uday Shirali from Bajirao Mastani for Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s upcoming film Malaal.
Sanjay Leela Bhansali's niece would acquire a look similar to Priyanka’s from Bajirao Mastani for her debut film. When Priyanka got to know about it she recommended makeup artiste Uday Shirali. With Bhansali's Malaal seeing Sharmin Sehgal acquire the look of a Maharashtrian in the song Udhal Ho, the actress suggested Uday enable her to slip into the part. A source told media, “Uday, who has worked with Priyanka for many years, was suggested for the young actress. Sharmin sports a navari saree and nathni. Asha Ganpat Malpekar had earlier created the traditional drapes for Priyanka during Bajirao Mastani, and has also dressed Sharmin in this song.”
Sharmin has worked as an assistant director on Priyanka’s films like Mary Kom and Bajirao Mastani. She said, “[Uday] knew how to provide the best look for this song. The saree is similar to the one Priyanka wore in Pinga, and in the film Kaminey. There are countless things that she (Priyanka) has guided me through.”
