A R Rahman to produce a Bollywood musical

Finally, music maestro A.R. Rahman is ready to make the leap from music direction to film production. Rahman who has always wanted to venture into filmmaking revealed at an event today about his plans to turn producer. "Yes I will be producing a Hindi film. You will have to wait for two or three months to hear about official announcement," said Rahman. Always a man of few words, Rahman disclosed that the movie will be a musical without revealing any further details. Though Rahman is turning producer, he doesn't plan to get into direction like Vishal Bhardwaj who successfully made a switch from composing music to film direction. Rather it is his curiosity for cinema that made him turn to film production. For the moment, its music that is keeping him on his toes with projects down south, Bollywood and few international projects consuming his creative energies.
