Raees to release on Diwali?

There has been much speculation about Shah Rukh Khan’s Raees clashing with his foe-turned-friend Salman Khan’s Sultan on Eid. But looks like the Karan and Arjun of Bollywood wouldn’t go head-to-head at the box office as SRK’s team has decided to push their movie to Diwali, reports a gossip site. With Sallu taking up Eid slots and SRK queuing up on Diwali every year, it doesn’t come as a surprise that the latter has chosen to move his movie date this time. The site further adds that July 29 and August 12 were also considered for Raees but due to other flicks releasing on that date, SRK’s movie had to be moved to its traditional Diwali slot. If the movie does come out during the long holiday of festival of lights, it could clash with Ajay Devgn’s Shivaay and Karan Johar’s Ae Dil Hai Mushkil. Considering KJo and SRK’s friendship, the former might just push his multi-starrer to another date. Commenting on the Diwali clash, a source told the site, “They are planning to release ‘Raees’ for Diwali. There are two films scheduled for Diwali. Ajay Devgan’s ‘Shivaay’ and Karan Johar’s ‘Ae Dil Hai Mushkil.’ Shah Rukh is likely to ask Karan Johar to move his film to another slot. And knowing KJo and his devotion to his Bhai, he won’t hesitate to give up his date. He has always maintained that SRK is family and no sacrifice is big for family.” But, but…what would happen when Raees and Shivaay vie for attention at the BO? Remember the epic battle between SRK and Ajay Devgn when their respective movies fought it out at the screens in 2012? While both Jab Tak Hai Jaan and Son of Sardar were hits, there was much mud-slinging and war or words between the two camps. Phew. We don’t want a repeat of that, do we? Will Ajay also change dates? Or will Shah Rukh look for another date altogether? Whatever the case, we will be sure to report it to you guys!
