At Hyderabad in connection with the launch of the 18th International Children’s Film Festival of India (ICFFI) yesterday, Ranbir Kapoor sprang a surprise when he announced that he was joining the Children’s Film Society of India (CFSI) for promoting the cause of children's films.
Ranbir, who shared the stage with veteran lyricist Gulzar and CFSI CEO Shravan Kumar, expressed his wish that more films should be made for children in the country. "I am privileged to be here and be part of a platform that encourages films for children... Of the toughest audience as they speak from their heart," he said.
In the context of children’s film, the Besharam actor said that his latest film Jagga Jasoos has a theme related to children.
As a child he liked watching films like Mr India, Amar Akbar Anthony among others, Ranbir observed.
On his part Gulzar said that the setting up children film centres in every state would be an effective way of taking films to the children.
Finally, the CFSI CEO said that this year's ICFFI was far more superior in content as compared to the previous editions.
