MUMBAI: The daughter of Aamir Khan and Reena Dutta, Ira Khan, has frequently discussed her mental health problems. Ira has been receiving treatment for cycle depression, which was brought on by her parents' divorce, in case you didn't know. However, it is extremely commendable how the talented youngster conquered the challenging time and fiercely battled it. Ira dropped out of college because of her depression. Ira recently talked about the same topic and admitted that she now regrets her choice.

Ira Khan, daughter of actor Aamir Khan, attended Utrecht University in the Netherlands. Her mental health issues, however, forced her to withdraw from the same program in 2016, and she ultimately returned to India and took a year off. She shouldn't choose to drop out, Ira Khan said in an interview. The celebrity child went on to say that she took this extreme action for a variety of reasons. Ira revealed that her withdrawal was primarily caused by fear and panic, followed by her therapist taking a break.

Ira Khan elaborated on the topic, saying that she should not have done what she did and that she now regrets it. Ira explained her justification by stating that she had found her buddy, extracurricular activities, and all the other things that she now regrets. Ira advised waiting a while to see if a difficult circumstance passes sometimes. Ira said, "I should not have dropped out at that point...fear and in panic and sometimes you just need to wait a little while and see if it passes. So I regret dropping out of college because I had actually found my friends, I had found my co-curricular..I had found those things."

On October 10, 2023, World Mental Health Day, Ira Khan posted a video with Aamir Khan on her Instagram account discussing mental health issues in general. Aamir Khan revealed in the same video that his daughter has been receiving therapy for a long time and has benefited much from it. The actor added that there is no shame in asking for help from a competent professional if necessary.

Ira Khan previously revealed in an interview that the divorce of her parents, Aamir Khan and Reena Dutta, served as a trigger for her mental instability and subsequent despair. Ira added that her therapist helped her realize this when they spoke further about the same problem.

Regarding Ira Khan's private life, she has been faithful to her longstanding love, Nupur Shikhare. On November 18, 2022, the couple exchanged rings in a private ceremony. Ira claimed in an interview that she and Nupur will wed on January 3, 2024 since that day holds a special meaning for them because it was when the deeply in love couple had their first kiss.
