MUMBAI: The Bombay high Court has lifted the temporary suspension of the Look Out Circular (LOC) against MTV Roadies gang leader Rhea Chakraborty’s brother Showik from traveling abroad. The family has been denied basic amenities like their passport which has resulted in the loss of their livelihood. Showik has now been allowed to travel to Australia for work but on many conditions that includes that his parents submit their passports to the authorities.
Showik, like his sister Rhea, was also one of the accused in the case registered by the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) after the death of Sushant Singh Rajput. Showik asked for permission to travel to Australia for 7 days for a work related agenda.
Rhea was in a relationship with Sushant Singh Rajput before he was found dead in his Bandra apartment in June 2020. His father then filed an FIR against Rhea for abetment of suicide and money laundering. The case was then transferred to the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI). Enforcement Directorate (ED) and the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB).
Rhea and Showik were arrested by the NCB in September 2020. While Rhea spent a month in Byculla jail and was released, the latter was there till December 2020 before being released on bail.
Rhea is currently seen as a gang leader on MTV Roadies 19. Speaking g of the past she once said, “A lot of people will say a lot of things. I have been labeled with many names, and many things have been said about me. But will I accept those labels? Kya main unke wajah se apne life me rukungi? Bilkul bhi nahi... Let them go. Kaun hai woh?”
