MUMBAI: In today's retro movie news segment, let's take a look at how Raj Kapoor had once predicted Dilip Kumar's (Yusuf Khan's) entry into Hindi cinema. The beautiful bond between the late veteran actor Dilip Kumar and the veteran late legendary star Raj Kapoor is known to be one of the best and most real friendships seen in the legacy of Hindi cinema.  Many may not know that Dilip and Raj both were from Peshawar.

Now, a page named Old is Gold posted an old clip where Dilip Kumar is seen telling how his friend Raj Kapoor had predicted his (Dilip's) entry into films. "He (Rajkapoor) was born in Peshawar. I was born in Peshawar. Our families knew each other. As I stepped into the studio for the first time, I came across Raj Kapoor. He was the one who always used to say when we used to play soccer; he was a good goalkeeper. He was a very good referee. Particularly when he used to play in the British Army team, he could assert himself despite being a little boy", told the late Mughal-e-Azam star.

Here, take a look at Dilip Kumar’s comment about Raj Kapoor:

Dilip was further heard telling in the interview, "When I saw him (Raj Kapoor), he used to tell me we both would go into films. I said no as that was not the done thing, to aspire to go into films. I told him tum jana, tumhare abba bhi wahi kaam karte hai, tum bhi wahi karna. He was the first man I met at the studio and he said, I had told you to come to this place. I had not come for any work interview. He was with me before my films and when I entered he was there, waiting. We had a lovely relationship". Indeed! Dilip Kumar and Raj Kapoor were best friends off-screen.
