Her mother is a Gaud Saraswat Brahmin from Konkan, while her father served as a lieutenant colonel in the Army. Rhea Chakraborty's paternal side ancestors appear to have come from Tunturi, which is near Purulia. They belonged to the dewan race. Early Career
