MUMBAI: During these trying times, veteran actor Rishi Kapoor had felt that the government should allow liquor shops to function to prevent black marketing.
Rishi, who left for his heavenly abode last Wednesday, had taken to Twitter to write, 'Think. Government should for sometime in the evening open all licensed liquor stores. Don't get me wrong. Man will be at home only what with all this depression, uncertainty around. Cops, doctors, civilians etc... need some release. Black mein to sell ho hi raha hai.'
Seconding this with another tweet, he'd said, 'State governments desperately need the money from the excise. Frustration should not add up with depression. As it is pee to rahe hain legalize kar do no hypocrisy. My thoughts.'
Six days after his demise, his wish has been fulfilled. Last night, the government announced that the liquor shops can re-open with effect from today. This has been done to take the first steps to regenerate the economy.
Rishi loved to drink and eat. Niranjan Iyengar, the writer of Student Of The Year writer recently said, 'Rishi loved to drink. He was also a foodie who even often went to the kitchen to see kya pakk raha hai aur kaise pakk raha hai.'
Have a look at the late actor's posts.
