MUMBAI: Rohit Shetty is loved for his Cop movies like Singham, Simmba and Sooryavanshi. The director/producer is also loved for making the audience laugh with the Golmaal franchise. As a result now, every time someone thinks of a comedy movie or a cop movie, one director that comes to mind first is Rohit Shetty.

The Singham director has given some fictional stories that we all enjoyed but now, it’s time for him to get his hands on a biopic and yes, it’s about a real-life cop.

So as per PeepingMoon.com, Rohit Shetty is all set for a cop drama based on the life of Rakesh Maria, regarded as one of India’s most iconic and accomplished police officers. Now to make this even more exciting for the audience, John Abraham will take on the lead role. The movie is yet in pre-production and will be based on Rakesh Maria’s 2020 memoir, ‘Let Me Say It Now’.

Officer Rakesh Maria was involved in some of India’s most sensitive and high-stake cases. A source close to the development said, “Rakesh Maria’s life is a gripping tale filled with dramatic highs and lows, as well as many controversial moments. With Abraham in the lead and Shetty directing it, this film promises to be an electrifying cinematic experience, seamlessly blending gritty realism with Shetty’s signature flair for high-octane, larger-than-life storytelling. Both Shetty and Abraham have long wanted to collaborate, and they’re particularly thrilled to join forces on this specific story.”

Here’s why you should be excited for this untitled project – While Rohit Shetty is loved for his cop universe, John Abraham is recognized and loved for his previous roles in movies like The Batla House, and Vedaa. Also, not to forget the upcoming movie ‘The Diplomat’. Surely this combination of Rohit Shetty and John Abraham looks promising.
