MUMBAI: In yet another blow to the Tollywood industry, director Maruthi’s father Vana Kuchala Rao, passed away on Wednesday at the age of 76 due to age-related issues at his residence in Machilipatnam, Andhra Pradesh. As per official sources, his last rites will be performed on Thursday.

As soon as the news came up online, social media is filled with condolence messages from fans, who are mourning the loss. They have paid their tributes and offered condolence to the director. The Bhale Bhale Magadivoy director is yet to post anything about the demise of his mother on social media. When Maruthi was young, it is heard that Vana Kuchala Rao used to sell bananas to his family. The Telugu film industry has been sharing its condolences with the director and his family.
Maruthi is considered one of the most successful filmmakers in Telugu cinema. He rose to fame with his back-to-back super hit films. His first film as a director was 'Ee Rojullo', which was one of the most successful Tollywood films in 2012. Some of his hit projects are 'Bus Stop,' 'Prema Katha Chitram', 'Bhale Bhale Magadivoy', 'Mahanubhavudu' and 'Prati Roju Pandage'.
He had directed a total of 10 movies apart from producing several Telugu movies. His upcoming ventures are 'Pakka Commercial' starring Gopichand and Raashii Khanna, and untitled Prabhas starrer.
