Veteran actor Sadashiv Amrapurkar is believed to have been admitted to a hospital early this morning after falling seriously ill.
As per emerging news reports, Amrapurkar has been shifted to Kokilaben Ambani Hospital in Andheri. Though the exact nature of his illness is yet to be identified, unconfirmed reports suggest that the veteran is reportedly in a critical condition.
Sadashiv Amrapurkar achieved name and fame for portraying villainous roles in Hindi cinema. His central negative character in Govind Nihalani's Ardh Satya is what brought him into limelight. Amrapurkar soon went on to become Dharmendra's lucky mascot and made his presence felt in many of the latter's movies. Amrapurkar's breakthrough performance as an eunuch in Mahesh Bhatt's Sadak won him his first Filmfare award. The actor has also been prolific in Marathi cinema as well.
We tried reaching Reema Amrapurkar but but she didn't respond to our texts and calls. Hospital authorities too declined to comment on the matter. We will keep an eye on further developments.
