MUMBAI: Salman Khan stands tall as one of Bollywood’s most celebrated and enduring stars. With a career spanning over three decades, he has delivered a string of blockbuster hits such as Bajrangi Bhaijaan, Sultan, and Tiger Zinda Hai.
Known for his commanding screen presence and larger-than-life roles, Salman has become a beloved figure in Indian cinema. Beyond acting, he’s also made a mark on television as the host of Bigg Boss and is the driving force behind his philanthropic initiative, Being Human.
While there are fans who love Salman Khan for his powerful persona, incidents keep happening that develop into controversies. In the past, he has been involved in high-profile legal battles. One of the cases being the 1998 blackbuck hunting case, has drawn serious threats to his life, especially from gangster Lawrence Bishnoi, whose community holds the blackbuck sacred.
The situation intensified when threatening letters were sent to Salman and his father in 2022 and 2023. These alarming developments led authorities to assign him Y+ category security, which includes armed protection.
Once again, Salman Khan received a death threat but this time it was different. Mayank Pandya, 26, from Vadodara, was detained by Worli Police for allegedly sending a death threat to actor Salman Khan via WhatsApp. Acting on a trace of the message, Mumbai Police, in coordination with Waghodia Police, reached his village residence. After interrogation, officials confirmed he was mentally unstable and released him with a notice, authorities reported on Tuesday.
Despite these serious threats, Salman Khan remains active in the entertainment industry. His determination to continue his work, even under constant risk, highlights the challenges of stardom in India — where fame can bring both adoration and real-world danger.
