Salman Khan starrer Sikandar's prominent sequences to be shot in THIS city: Read to know where

MUMBAI : Hindi Film Industry actor Salman Khan recently  unveiled a grand project titled Sikandar. This action thriller movie marks Khan's first collaboration with director AR Murugadoss, and filming is set to begin in June 2024. The director, Murugadoss is currently busy with many projects, including an action film featuring Tamil star Sivakarthikeyan (tentatively titled SK23). To ensure a smooth beginning of a  Sikandar, he aims to wrap up a significant portion of SK23 before diving into Khan's film.

A news portal source revealed, “Murugadoss wants to complete as much of SK23 as possible before Sikandar goes on floors."  The plan involved shooting the initial stage of Sikandar in May, followed by a return to Sivakarthikeyan's film in June. From the month of July, Murugadoss will devote his full attention to Sikandar.

With a target Eid 2025 release, the team is working intensely to meet the deadline despite the director's packed schedule.  Further the source added, “To avoid any delays, Murugadoss has assembled a dedicated team to expedite the completion of SK23."

Another report revealed that the pre-production will begin in the last week of May, making the way for a June shoot. The first schedule will take place in Mumbai city, with location searching currently underway to finalise filming spots.

Action sequences are a priority for the director, and the action directors are busy choreographing these set pieces, where the lead hero has already begun his preparations.  The source revealed, “Salman insists on performing the action sequences himself. He has modified his workout regimen to achieve a chiseled physique."

As per the reports, Khan and  leading lady Rashmika Mandanna are expected to start in early June. A significant portion of the film will be shot in the city, Mumbai and Hyderabad before the team begins with the International schedule.

Sikandar marks the comeback of the director  Murugadoss in the Hindi cinema after an eight-year break following Akira (2016). This film also reunites Salman with producer Sajid Nadiadwala, the duo had worked earlier in the blockbuster movies like Kick, Judwaa, and Mujhse Shaadi Karogi.
