In order to be present when his cricket team Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) takes on other teams at this year’s Champions League in South Africa, Shah Rukh Khan has preponed the launch of his ambitious film Chennai Express to be directed by Rohit Shetty much before the scheduled date.
The film, that was earlier supposed to go on floors in October-end, will now start the initial 20-day schedule from 27 September (2012).
In his want to watch some of the matches of the tour, the actor-producer has accordingly decided to be in South Africa during that period. Earlier this year, KKR won the Indian Premier League for the first time making them hot favourites to win the Champions League as well.
It is said that the director was more than happy to toe the proposed changed date schedule as his sister is due to get married on 11 November for which he wanted time for preparations. With the 20-day schedule wrapping up around mid-October, he will get time for the preparations.
