Shah Rukh Khan remembers his father, Late Mir Taj Mohammed Khan on his 93rd Birth Anniversary

SRK lost his dad when he was just 16 years old due to cancer

MUMBAI: Shah Rukh Khan is one of the mega superstars of Bollywood and he has been ruling the industry for more than two decades. It wasn’t an easy journey for the actor as he lost his dad in 1981 at a very early age when he was just 16 years due to cancer.  It was then his mother who took over him and his sister but unfortunate that within 10 years span he lost his mother in 1991 due to complications of diabetes.

So, by the age of 26 years, this young boy lost both his parents but fought back life and without anyone’s help made it as one of the mega superstars around the globe.

SRK’s father Taj Mohammed Khan was a freedom fighter and had come to India ( Delhi) after the patrician of India and Pakistan.  His father was a lawyer by profession and was a part of the Quit India movement and one of the youngest freedom fighter.

SRK in an interview has said that he remembers his father as a giant, 6′2″ tall with typically Pathan good looks, grey eyes, and grey hairs. But, he was well educated too. He did MA, LLB, and knew six languages including Persian, Sanskrit, Pushtu, Punjabi, Hindi, and English.

The Badshah of Bollywood also mentioned in his biography that his dad had a good sense of humour and every year on his birthday he visits his dad’s grave in Delhi.  He also mentioned how in his earlier days they didn’t have money to even eat but it was his dad who taught him to fight any situation with a positive outlook.

He also said that he lost his dad as he didn’t have that much money to save him and give him the best medication which he could have to afford today.

Well, today marks the 93rd Birth anniversary of the actor's late father, and he remembered him with a post shared by Meer Foundation.

Shah Rukh khan's Meer Foundation took to Twitter to share a picture and tweeted, "We carry his name, in spirit & kind. #MeerFoundation commemorates the birth anniversary of Meer Taj Mohammed as we strive to embody his values through our deeds. #ToGETherStronger."

To which SRK retweeted and said and we have a long way to go.... ‘Ishrat-e-qatra hai dariya mein fana ho jaana. dard ka had se guzarna hai dawa ho jaana’

SRK had started this foundation on Father’s day which he named after his father, MeerFoundation – aims to create a network of support for women. SRK has always said that his only sadness is that he was orphan at a very young age and his parents couldn’t see his success and the comfortable life he built.

Today SRK is a brand and whatever he has achieved it’s been out of hard work and dedication and without the support of parents is a tough journey. We are sure today if his parents were alive they would have been super proud of the achievements he has had.
