MUMBAI: Shahid Kapoor and Pooja Hegde’s Deva has kicked off its theatrical run on a solid note, earning ₹5.78 crores nett on its opening day. The film has delivered the second-highest opening of 2025, driven by audience excitement, strong reviews, and positive word-of-mouth.
The buzz around Deva has been building organically, with no special discounted or ticketing offers. Audiences are praising its gripping storyline, thrills and suspense, high production values, and, most of all, Shahid Kapoor’s superlative performance in his intense portrayal of a rebellious cop, not to mention the spellbinding action sequences. Pooja Hegde’s screen presence, along with Pavail Gulati’s, has also drawn appreciation, further adding to the chatter across social media and industry circles. The film’s positive reception, especially in metro cities, indicates strong weekend momentum ahead.
Additionally, Deva has posted a strong overseas gross of ₹3.49 crores on Day 1, taking its total global gross box office collection to ₹10.31 crores.
