MUMBAI: Following the record-breaking box office success of Shin chan: Our Dinosaur Diary, the beloved franchise is set to make a grand return to the big screen. TV Asahi, in partnership with PVR INOX Pictures and Happening 365, proudly presents the all-new feature film: Shin chan: The Spicy Kasukabe Dancers in India. For the first time ever, Shin chan and the Kasukabe Guard travel to India, promising audiences the ultimate dance-filled adventure.
The film will be released nationwide across India on Friday, September 26th, 2025.
The film is produced by Shin-Ei Animation, TV Asahi, ADK Emotions, and Futabasha, with animation production by Shin-Ei Animation. Directed by Masakazu Hashimoto, The Spicy Kasukabe Dancers in India takes Shin chan and his friends to India, the "nation of dance," to participate in a vibrant entertainment festival. They enjoy their first experiences in India, trying local cuisine like chapati and greeting everyone with a cheerful “Namaste!” But when Bo chan is transformed after an encounter with a mysterious backpack, the Kasukabe Guard must work together to bring their friend back to normal. Set against the colorful backdrop of India, this year’s biggest dance entertainment promises laughter, excitement, and heartwarming moments.
A brand-new poster visual has also been released, featuring Shin chan in lively Indian-inspired attire, while Bo chan appears transformed, hinting at the film’s dramatic and festive themes.

This fun-filled movie is set in India and features themes such as the bonds of friendship among children, the important roles played by the adults who watch over them, and the question of what it means to be yourself. There are also many unique and original characters, created especially for this film, that bring the world of Shin chan to life in India.
The India depicted in this movie is a little different from the real India—it’s an India seen through the unique lens of Shin chan. As the release approaches, I’m both excited and nervous to see how everyone in India will feel about it.
