MUMBAI: The most talked-about rumor at the time was Vivek Oberoi's previous relationship with Aishwarya Rai. When the latter had just broken up with her ex-beau, Salman Khan, the two began dating. They broke up in 2005, but their romance didn't last much longer. Vivek even went so far as to openly admit that Aishwarya's ex, Salman Khan, had threatened him for dating the latter, which harmed his career. Today, Aishwarya and Vivek moved on and are contentedly married with their different partners and kids.
In a recent conversation, Vivek Oberoi disclosed everything. The actor opened up about his personal life and reflected on his history. Along the same lines, Vivek highlighted how he had been disappointed numerous times in previous relationships since his ex-partners had broken their commitment vows despite having made them.
Many people were curious as to whether Vivek's words referred to his separation from Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, even if he didn't take any particular name well. Vivek mentioned, “I am an all-or-nothing guy. I love with all my heart, but people like me get hurt. And when I was hurt, it was very difficult. The path that many such people take after getting hurt is that they try not to be who they are and be superficial. It was amazing in the beginning; you brought out your best flirtatious self, and I was playing the field. It was a big ego kick. But I was never dishonest. I wouldn’t commit to somebody and leave. I would be straightforward and tell them I am not looking for anything serious.”
Vivek Oberoi experienced his fair share of heartbreaks before finding comfort and love in Priyanka Alva, whom he wed on October 29, 2010. Vivek said how many of his ex-girlfriends, with whom he had some sort of connection, attended his wedding while talking about the same. He said, “I stayed friends with a lot of my casual girlfriends, and a lot of them even came to my wedding.”
Vivek Oberoi was questioned in a previous interview if he would have wished to make his previous connection with Aishwarya Rai public when he first began his profession. The actor referred to his prior relationship as "done and dusted" and declined to comment. In addition, he said that after he got married, he never brought up his relationship with Aishwarya Rai again.
Vivek Oberoi previously discussed having to deal with painful breakups in his past relationships. The actor claimed that despite giving the relationship his all, he wasn't treated with the same respect. Vivek added that it made him skeptical about love for a very long time. He added, “So my experience in love at that point was one where I felt very let down, I felt undervalued. I felt that what I had done and what I had given in my relationship vs just the respect just the acknowledgment of that was missing. And that made me very cynical and very bitter.”
