SHOCKING! When the sets of these films caught fire and disrupted the shoot for several hours

A lot of film shoots were stalled and people were injured when fire broke out on the sets.

MUMBAI: Making a film is not an easy task. A lot of processes are involved and several months of hard work is put in by everyone from the cast and crew to make a perfect film.

From actors to technicians and spot boys, a lot of credit goes to each one of them in making a successful film and also ensuring that the shooting is completed smoothly and on time.

We all know that a lot of safety precautions are taken while shooting a film, right from taking care of actors who perform daredevil stunts to shooting at certain dangerous locations.

However, we have seen how things going wrong and mishaps occuring while shooting.

A lot of pieces have been circulated on social media where the audiences have read about the sets of the film catching fire.

Though the makers take utmost care to prevent tragedies, there have been times when film sets were destroyed by fire, resulting in the loss of property and lives. Read on to know about a few such incidents.

A fire broke out during the shoot of ABCD 2, which starred Varun Dhawan and Shraddha Kapoor in the lead roles, while they were shooting in a Mumbai studio. Around 600 people including the cast and crew were evacuated after this tragic incident. Nobody was hurt and the fire was put out in time.

Another film set of Varun Dhawan had caught fire. The film set of Main Tera Hero caught fire during a shoot sequence in Bangkok. The sets were immediately evacuated, and everyone escaped unhurt, but the shoot was disrupted for a few hours.

The same happened on the sets of Sanjay Leela Bhansali's Black when a massive fire broke. This happened in February 2004. The fire destroyed film equipment worth Rs. 2,00,000 and caused minor injuries to some people.

Another film set of Sanjay Leela Bhansali faced a similar fire incident. Two people were killed when the fire broke out on the sets of his magnum opus Devdas in the year 2002. This also happened on the sets of Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam in 2000.

A massive fire broke out on the sets of Mother India when actress Nargis and Sunil Dutt were shooting the famous fire in the haystack scene. During the scene where Dutt had to save Nargis from the raging fire, the blaze had gotten out of control, and Sunil ji quickly grabbed a blanket and wrapped it around Nargis, thus managing to rescue her. The actor suffered several burns while saving Nargis.

As per a leading entertainment portal, three crew members were injured in a fire on the sets of Salman Khan's film Dabangg 2. The cast and crew were shooting at Mehboob Studio in Mumbai when the fire broke out following an electric blast. The injured were admitted to the Lilavati Hospital and were all out of danger soon.
