Showman Subhash Ghai shakes a leg at Hard Rock Café's grand launch

To say that the opening of a brand new Hard Rock Cafe at Andheri in Mumbai was a grand affair would be an understatement. The event which got underway a little after 9 pm saw celebs from tinsel town toting in with their glamorous better halves. Organized by the showman of Indian cinema Subhash Ghai, the event saw the presence of many known names from the music and film world. As is tradition, the café was officially opened after guitars were smattered into pieces by the troika of Subhash Ghai, Rishi Kapoor and Ronit Roy. The ‘Guitar Smash’ as it is called is a tradition where defective guitars are smashed and a brand new guitar is donated to a charitable organization with the sole purpose of keeping the music alive. Post the ‘Guitar Smash’ tradition, the party moved towards the spacious interiors of Hard Rock Café where a rocking party was underway. Joining the revelries, the celebs shook a leg to the tunes of a live band. The high point was when the band started crooning the legendary ‘Ek Haseena Thi’ from Karz and requested Subhash Ghai to join in. Obliging their request, the showman dived straight into the dance floor, raised his hands and shook a leg much to the delight of those present on the dance floor. He even returned back when the band sang Yeh Dil from Pardes and thanked the band for their wonderful rendition. The festivities continued till late night and stopped only after the 1.30 am deadline had ended making it a night to remember. Thankfully, the police didn’t play party poopers at this social do.
