MUMBAI: As producer Ramesh Taurani is ready to reboot the well-liked action series, Saif Ali Khan is set to make a big comeback to the Race franchise with Race 4. The movie is reportedly scheduled to begin shooting in the first half of 2025, and the crew is now finalising its script.
The popular gossip claims that Sidharth Malhotra is in advanced talks to star alongside Saif in this intense action movie, which only heightens the anticipation. Sidharth has indicated interest in participating in Race 4 and has been in talks with Taurani for some time, according to those close to the project.

“While Ramesh Taurani has a team of in-house writers working on the basic plot of Race 4, he has brought in seasoned writers and directors to develop it into a full-fledged screenplay. Conversations with Sidharth Malhotra have already begun to bring him on board alongside Saif Ali Khan. Sidharth is a fan of the Race franchise and is keen to take on this role,” shared a source.
The Race series has always been known for its intense rivalry between two strong-headed men. The first film featured a face-off between Saif Ali Khan and Akshaye Khanna, followed by Saif and John Abraham in Race 2, and finally, Salman Khan and Bobby Deol in Race 3. “In keeping with the spirit of the franchise, Race 4 will see a gripping showdown between Saif and Sidharth. It’s designed as a two-hero film, with both characters exhibiting shades of grey,” the source added.
In addition to the main protagonists, Race 4 is anticipated to have a strong ensemble cast with all the excitement, suspense, and glamour that viewers have come to expect from the series. “Race 4 is being planned on a grand scale, and Ramesh Taurani and his team have full confidence in the potential of the franchise,” the insider said.
It is predicted that Saif and Sidharth will sign official contracts following the final narration of the script, which has been set around November 2024. However, both stars have shown a strong desire to bring the Race series back to life, guaranteeing moviegoers an exciting new experience.
