MUMBAI : On 29th May 2022, Punjabi singer Sidhu Moose Wala was shot over 30 times by around eight to 10 attackers. Even after firing that many shots, the attackers checked whether he was alive. The popular musician had joined Congress last year and had even contested the Punjab Assembly Elections unsuccessfully.

In Sidhu’s ongoing murder case, the late singer’s father Balkaur Sidhu has raised objections to a virtual production of the accused. He stated that he was assured that the accused would be present physically in court. He said, “We were assured that the accused would be produced physically. But they are not produced properly on the VC (Video Conference). Today, out of 25 accused, 22 were produced. (Lawrence) Bishnoi did not speak anything because he had a 'Maun Vrat' today. We are very helpless in this situation.”
This delay of presenting the accused in court has caused a delay in the chargesheet being filed to the district and sessions court. The next hearing of Sidhu Moosewala’s murder trial will be on 2nd November. Three chargesheets were filed against 32 accused in the murder of the singer by the Punjab Police. These also included gangsters Lawrence Bishnoi and Goldy Brar claiming that the assassination was a part of the revenge killings between the Bishnoi and Bambiha gangs.
Gangster Goldy Brar was the prime accused in killing Punjabi Rapper and politician Sidhu Moose Wala along with gangster Lawrence Bishnoi. Recently Hindi film actor Salman Khan too had filed a complaint on receiving a death threat from Bishnoi.
