New Delhi-based Priyadarshni Academy will honour Deepika Padukone with the biennial Smita Patil Memorial award for her contribution to the film industry on 18 September (2012).
The award would be presented to her at the 28th anniversary global awards function of the Academy, its chairman Nanik Rupani announced in a statement.
Similar awards would go out to industrialist Kumar Mangalam Birla who would be presented with the Harish Mahindra Memorial Global Award for outstanding contribution to globalisation of Indian industry.

Others who would also be honoured are Dr Samir Brahmachari, Director General, Council of Scientific and Industrial Research, Nirj Deva, member of European parliament and HDFC managing director Aditya Puri.
The awards will be presented by the Union Health and Family Welfare Minister Ghulam Nabi Azad, Maharashtra Assembly speaker Dilip Walse-Patil and state food and civil supplies minister Anil Deshmukh.
