In Netflix's new series, Fabulous Lives of Bollywood Wives, Shah Rukh Khan said that one of the reasons he and Gauri Khan got married was because they were both fans of Neelam Kothari.

MUMBAI: Netflix's Fabulous Lives of Bollywood Wives brings to fore the lives of four celebrity wives - Maheep Kapoor (married to Sanjay Kapoor), Bhavana Panday (married to Chunky Panday), Seema Khan (married to Sohail Khan) and Neelam Kothari (married to Samir Soni). Out of these four, it's Neelam who was a celebrated actress back in the '80s.

The show, which sees many other prominent celebrities in special appearances, also features Gauri Khan, who Karan Johar refers to as the First Lady of Bollywood Wives club. In the finale episode, megastar Shah Rukh Khan also joins the ladies and shares his memories with each of them.

During his appearance on the show, SRK revealed that one of the reasons he and Gauri married was because they were both fans of Neelam. Sharing details about the same, Shah Rukh shared, "It wasn’t Mr. Vinod Khanna or Mr. Amitabh Bachchan. It wasn’t Sanjay Dutt. It was you," said Shah Rukh while speaking his heart out to the ladies at a party hosted by his wife.

Shah Rukh also recalled that he used to think about how he'd join films etc and then he saw a show called Lehrein. In that show, Neelam was being choreographed by the late Saroj Khan, who SRK loved and respected dearly.

"Saroj ji came and told her the steps and Neelam was just there listening... and believe you me she didn’t understand anything. That’s why I’m her fan. She only said one thing - is that right?" recounted SRK. The actor joked that ever since then he's been wanting to this - that some director gives him all the instructions and he just asks in return - is this right. SRK's story left everyone in splits.

Apart from talking about his wife's gang of friends, the actor also spoke highly of Chunky Panday and how his family made him and Gauri feel at home when he had just moved to Mumbai.
