Sujoy Ghosh casts Amitabh, Naseer and Vidya in Badla

In a casting coup of sorts, Sujoy Ghosh, who is still enjoying all the adulation for his Vidya Balan-starrer Kahaani is bringing together three best talents of Bollywood viz Amitabh Bachchan, Naseeruddin Shah and Vidya Balan for his next film titled Badla. However, a source close to the project revealed that Shah had rejected the script Ghosh presented him earlier and asked the director to rework the characters in a more balanced equation. He has categorically made it clear that he will be part of Sujoy's dream team only if his role is justified by the script; that in a way means equal footage. Talking to Tellychakkar.com about the title and the genre of his film, Ghosh said that he waited ten years for the title saying, "Badla was a title that was registered with some other producer. I had to wait ten years to get it. All I can say about the film is that it's a revenge story, but not a vendetta saga." Earlier Bachchan and Vidya stole hearts with their sensitive portrayal as mother and son in R Balki's Paa while Vidya and Shah made for a good couple in Abhishek Chaubey's Ishqiya and also in Milan Luthria's The Dirty Picture. The film is slated to go on floor by the end of this year (2013).
