KOLKATA: This piece of news will bring a smile on the faces of Kakababu fans! SVF and Srijit Mukherji have reunited for their Pujo 2019 release, Kakababur Protyaborton.

Prosenjit Chatterjee will be returning to don the role of Kakababu, aka Raja Roy Chowdhury, while Aryaan Bhowmick will be returning to revive the character of Santu. And joining them will be Anirban Chakrabarti, who is famous for portraying the role of Eken Babu.

The plot of the film will be adapted from Jangoler Moddhe Ek Hotel from Sunil Gangopadhyay's famous Kakababu series. The film will be shot extensively in the forests of Kenya and South Africa and is scheduled to go on floors soon.

Srijit said in a statement, ‘The Kakababu films have always broken records at the box office and I’m sure Kakababur Protyaborton will be no less. It is my next Pujo gift to the Bengali audience.’

Elated about the return of Kakababu, Shrikant Mohta, Co-Founder and Director, SVF said, ‘Kakababu is a character that is close to our heart and it's always a pleasure working with Bumbda (Prosenjit). After the immense success of Mishwar Rahosya and Yeti Obhijaan, I'm sure the next installment will be loved by all.’
